A woman has been charged with allegedly assaulting police after she crashed her car near The Spit Bridge.

Just after 4.00am yesterday morning (Thursday, 12 February), emergency services received a Triple Zero (000) call reporting a Nissan Micra had crashed into a streetlight at Manly Road, Seaforth, heading southbound towards The Spit Bridge.

The impact caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle and set off air bags. The 31-year-old female driver and sole occupant was able to get out of the car but appeared agitated and unsteady on her feet.

Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command and two NSW Ambulance crews, including Intensive Care Paramedics from Balgowlah Ambulance Station, responded to the crash scene.

According to a NSW Police spokesperson, the woman allegedly attempted to leave the scene before being stopped by police, at which point she allegedly assaulted two officers and was arrested. No injuries were reported to anyone involved.

With assistance from police, paramedics assessed the agitated woman, but aside from multiple minor abrasions she had no obvious injuries. She did however appear to be intoxicated and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with a police escort for further assessment and mandatory testing just before 5.00am.

She was then taken to Manly Police Station, where she was charged with four counts of assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

The 31-year-old woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday, 04 March 2026. Once the results of drug and alcohol testing become available, the woman may face additional charges.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and Ausgrid was informed of the damage to the streetlight.
