A man who crashed his car into a streetlight at the Roseville Bridge has been charged with drink-driving.

Just before 2.00am Sunday, 23 November, NSW Police and firefighters from Forestville Station responded to reports of a single vehicle collision into a roadside safety barrier and streetlight at Warringah Road, Killarney Heights, westbound approaching the Roseville Bridge.

The driver and sole occupant in the vehicle, a 39-year-old man from Bossley Park in Greater Western Sydney, was not injured in the crash but the force of the impact damaged a large streetlight near the exit to Davidson Park, bringing live powerlines onto the roadway.

Two lanes of citybound traffic were closed while Ausgrid was called to make the powerlines safe, but the effect on traffic in the early hours of the morning was minimal.

NSW Police conducting a random breath test (RBT)

Officers attached to NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command required the man to undergo a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive reading.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to Frenchs Forest Police Station where he underwent a further breath analysis, which police alleged returned a reading of 0.123.

The 39-year-old man from Bossley Park had his driver licence suspended and was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for driving with a mid range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA). He has been scheduled to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.
