A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a French national who failed to appear at court.
The arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Mael Marc Robert Porche by Magistrate Daniel Reiss at Manly Local Court on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, after the French national failed to appear at court for a second time.
Mr Porche, who was living at Ultimo and working as a food delivery driver, was facing charges for driving with mid range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA) after recording an alleged reading of 0.146 following a multiple-vehicle crash at the intersection of the Wakehurst Parkway and Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen, on Sunday, 21 September 2025 (main image).

He was the driver of a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris with a front seat passenger, also a male in his 20s, whose vehicle had allegedly caused a collision involving three other vehicles. No injuries were reported in the crash (image above).
Before police arrived, one of the two men had allegedly been observed attempting to hide a bottle of vodka and a canister of nitrous oxide, also known as ‘laughing gas’. During a search of the surrounding area by police, the two items were recovered around the corner at Windsor Parade and taken into evidence (image below).

Mr Porche was convicted in his absence after first failing to appear at Manly Local Court on Thursday, 30 October 2025. The matter was set down for sentencing last Wednesday (12 November 2025) at Manly Local Court but Mr Porche again failed to appear.
The court heard that Mr Porche had sent a message saying he had decided to return home to France and that, “I want to be with my family.” Police said they would check with Australian Border Force to determine if Mr Porche was still in the country.
Magistrate Daniel Reiss issued a warrant for his arrest.
