A teenage boy has been refused bail following a string of alleged criminal activity across the Northern Beaches.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday (30 October 2025) by NSW Police Strike Force Sweetenham, which was formed in June 2025 to investigate the organised theft of motor vehicles across the Sydney area by young people.
The teen from the St George area of Sydney is known to police and was on bail at the time of alleged offences committed on the Northern Beaches in the early hours of Sunday, 28 September 2025.
In the company of at least two other youths, the alleged young offender appears to have attempted to evade police patrols by moving between areas as they went on their alleged crime spree.

At 2.20am Sunday, 28 September 2025, the young offender went to a home at Killarney Drive, Killarney Heights, and entered the front yard with two co-offenders who were both armed with a knife. The house alarm was activated and the offenders fled.
At 3.11am Sunday, 28 September 2025, the young offender went to a home at Old Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach, with a co-offender who was armed with a knife. They walked up the driveway and approached the front door. The co-offender attempted to open the front door, but it was locked and they left the premises.
At 3.30am Sunday, 28 September 2025, the young offender went to a home at Alexander Street, Collaroy, with co-offenders, walked up the driveway and the side of the property without being able to gain access to the house.
At 4.10am Sunday, 28 September 2025, the young offender in company of others attempted to enter a house at Fuller Street, Collaroy Plateau. They tried the front door, but it was locked. The offence was recorded on Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV). The offenders diverted their attention to a BMW parked in the driveway and stole a bag from the front cabin that contained bank cards.
At 5.00am Sunday, 28 September 2025, the victim from Collaroy Plateau received text messages alerting her to suspicious card transactions in the Sydney CBD. Bank security software blocked the transactions.

The incidents were reported to Northern Beaches Police and investigators from Strike Force Sweetenham took over given their charter of investigating aggravated break and entry to homes and the theft of cars.
On Thursday (30 October 2025), the 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with:
- Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence (attempt)
- Three counts of enter land with intent
- Dishonestly obtain property by deception
- Breach of bail
- Larceny for stealing property from a Sydney store on the day of his arrest
The 15-year-old boy was refused bail by police and appeared at Surry Hills Children’s Court yesterday (Friday, 31 October 2025), where he was formally remanded in custody to appear before the same court on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.
