Police are investigating a suspected bashing after a man was found in critical condition at a home at Warriewood.
Just before 7.00am this morning (Wednesday, 14 October), NSW Police and NSW Ambulance responded to a report of a man found bloodied and unconscious at a house at Carpenter Crescent, Warriewood.
On arrival, officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command located a man in his 50s lying in a pool of blood underneath a large television on the lower level of the home.

Three NSW Ambulance crews were despatched to the residential property, including Intensive Care Paramedics and NSW Ambulance Supervisor Ree Lane. Tasked from nearby Mona Vale Ambulance Station, paramedics were at the scene within five minutes of the Triple Zero (000) call.

They assessed the unresponsive man to be in a critical condition with a head injury, black eyes, suspected skull fracture and possible spinal injury, and requested the urgent attendance of a specialist trauma team.
Despite the inclement weather, a Toll NSW Ambulance Rescue Helicopter was launched from Bankstown shortly after 7.15am, landing at the helipad at Mona Vale Hospital just after 7.30am.

The man was brought to the helicopter landing site, where the aeromedical team assessed his injuries before placing him into an induced coma.
Fire and Rescue NSW Mona Vale Station was called to shield the aeromedical crew from rain with a large tarpaulin as they undertook the emergency medical procedure.

Once the man had been sufficiently stabilised to be airlifted, the helicopter took off just before 8.30am in blustery conditions and flew directly to Royal North Shore Hospital, where doctors were waiting in the Emergency Department to receive them.
With the exact cause of the man’s injury unclear, police established a crime scene at the home and commenced an investigation. Detectives attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were observed by the Northern Beaches Advocate conducting inquiries and speaking with people at the address.
A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the man had been found critically injured and that an investigation was underway. They declined to provide any details as to the nature of the investigation but asked that anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
