A driver was arrested after crashing into two other cars at the Wakehurst Parkway, North Narrabeen.
Just after 11.00am yesterday morning (Sunday, 21 September), a NSW Ambulance returning to Avalon Ambulance Station from Northern Beaches Hospital came across a four-car collision at the intersection of the Wakehurst Parkway and Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen (main image).
They found a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris had crashed into cars stopped at the traffic lights, waiting to turn north into Pittwater Road. The Yaris collided with a white 2023 Hyundai Palisade, before crashing into a black 2017 Jeep Renegade, that was pushed into a grey 2015 Toyota RAV4.

Ambulance paramedics who were already on scene assessed the occupants of the vehicles, but none were injured. Two male occupants of the Toyota Yaris, both in their 20s, were seen to behave unusually however. One of the two men was seen to take objects from the vehicle and allegedly dispose of them in premises around the corner on Windsor Parade.
Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command and firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW Dee Why Station arrived on scene, closing the northbound exit ramp from the Wakehurst Parkway into Pittwater Road. The driver of the Yaris, understood to be a French national, was spoken with by police and overheard to complain about his treatment.

The driver of the Yaris was subject to a roadside breath test (image above), which allegedly returned a positive result. He was placed under arrest and taken into custody (image below).

The male passenger of the Yaris, who was not under arrest, quietly made off from the scene (image below) as police began searching properties at Windsor Parade.

An officer located two items at Windsor Parade, alleged to be a bottle of alcohol and a nitrous oxide gas canister, which were retrieved and taken into evidence (image below).

Firefighters neutralised a fluid spill from the Yaris and cleaned up debris from the roadway. Three of the vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver of the Yaris was taken to Mona Vale Police Station for a secondary breath analysis and allegedly returned a positive result with a reading of 0.146, which is at the upper end of mid range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA).

A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the man had been issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for the alleged offence of drive with mid range PCA. It is the man’s first alleged drink-driving offence, and his driver licence was suspended.
The minimum driver licence disqualification for a first offence for mid range PCA is six-months. The court may also impose a fine of up to $2,200 and a maximum prison term of up to nine-months. If found guilty, the man will also find himself likely to be uninsured for the damage caused as a result of the collision.
The man is due to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday, 29 October 2025.
As inquiries into the incident continue, anyone with information, including dashcam or mobile phone footage, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
