NSW Police have arrested two teenage intruders after a break-in at Seaforth.
Around 1.15am this morning (Friday, 06 September), NSW Police were called to a home at Seaforth Crescent, Seaforth, after two teenage males were disturbed during an alleged break-in.
The occupants of the home disturbed the intruders, who then allegedly fled the scene in a stolen Toyota Camry. Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command spotted the Camry a short while later travelling east at Military Road, Mosman.
The car was travelling in excess of the 60 km/h speed limit, and when directed to stop by police, failed to do so. A vehicle pursuit was initiated, reaching speeds over 90 km/h.
The driver of the fleeing Toyota stopped along the Warringah Freeway, North Sydney, and the driver fled on foot. The NSW Police Dog Unit was called in to hunt down the person who had run from the car, and a 19-year-old man was found after a short foot pursuit and arrested.
A 17-year-old male passenger was arrested in the vehicle. He was taken to Manly Police Station to assist police with their inquiries.
The 19-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a dog bite to his right leg, which was incurred while attempting to evade police. With a police escort, he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment, and remains there under police guard.
Detectives from Northern Beaches Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have asked that anyone with information, or has any available dashcam/mobile phone footage, to contact Manly Police Station on 02 9976 8099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
