Two more convenience stores at Dee Why have been closed by NSW Health for allegedly selling illegal tobacco products.
The two stores ordered closed today (Monday, 02 March) are the Dee Why Mart Tobacco Station at 21 Oaks Avenue (main image) and the Dee Why Express convenience store at 846 Pittwater Road, entry off Pacific Parade (image below).
In raids conducted this morning, both of the stores were issued short-term closure orders of three months by NSW Health. Just last week two other convenience stores at Oaks Avenue were issued closure orders.

Similar to last week, youths were seen approaching the shuttered shops, before walking away after inspecting the bright yellow notices affixed to the front of the stores.
The NSW Health notice states the stores have been issued a three-month closure order from 02 March 2026 to 30 May 2026. The order warns that any retail trade from the store during the closure period will result in penalties of up to $137,500.
The notices on both stores state the closures were ordered for the ‘sale of illicit tobacco’.

Under NSW tobacco retailing laws, retailers are not allowed to:
- sell illicit tobacco
- sell tobacco to people under 18
- display illegal advertising material
Under NSW poisons laws, it is also illegal for any retailer other than a pharmacy to sell vaping products.
Members of the public who have reason to suspect illegal behaviour by retailers not complying with NSW tobacco retailing laws, or illegally selling vaping products, can make a report online via the NSW Health website.
