A woman was taken to hospital after a car crash at Freshwater yesterday.
Just before 10.30am yesterday morning (Thursday, 17 October), emergency services were called to a report of a two-car collision at the corner of Kooloora Avenue, Freshwater, and Murray Road.
NSW Police and firefighters from Mosman Station were first on scene, finding a red 2019 Kia Rio hatchback had been T-boned by a silver 2010 Volvo XC90. The impact caused a cargo carrier on the roof of the Volvo to come loose and land on the Kia.

Firefighters called for an ambulance after speaking with one of the occupants, a woman in her 60s who remained in the front passenger side of the Kia, complaining of soreness in her pelvis.
Four NSW Ambulance crews responded to the incident scene, including Intensive Care Paramedics and two NSW Ambulance Inspectors, who arrived just before 10.45am. After an assessment of the woman’s injuries, they were concerned she may have sustained internal injuries.

Together with firefighters, they carefully lifted the woman out of the car and placed her onto a NSW Ambulance stretcher. She was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition just before 11.45am.
No other injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
