NSW Police have confirmed that a man reported missing from North Ryde has been located.

Owen Newton (image right/below), aged 57, was last seen at an address at Avon Road, North Ryde, around 2.10pm Wednesday, 03 July 2024.

He was reported missing to officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries into his whereabouts and launched a public appeal for assistance yesterday afternoon (Friday, 05 July).

Police and family held concerns for Owen Newton’s welfare.

Following inquiries, NSW Police confirmed that Owen Newton was located on the Northern Beaches today (Saturday, 06 July), safe and well.

Police thanked the public for their assistance.

NSW Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from North Ryde, who may be on the Northern Beaches.

Owen Newton (image right/below), aged 57, was last seen at an address at Avon Road, North Ryde, around 2.10pm Wednesday, 03 July 2024.

When he failed to return home and was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Owen Newton’s welfare.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 160cm – 165cm tall, of medium build, with grey hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper, black pants, and black shoes with pink sides.

He is known to frequent the suburbs of North Manly and Macquarie Park.

Anyone who may have seen Owen Newton, or may know of his whereabouts, is urged to contact Ryde Police Station on 02 9808 7401 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
