Traffic & Rescue

  • Avalon Beach. Just after 6.15am Saturday, 08 January, a collision between a truck and van at Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach, near Avalon Parade, temporarily closed two northbound lanes. No injuries were reported.
  • Beacon Hill. Just before 9.30am Tuesday, 11 January, a power failure lasting around an hour affecting areas of Beacon Hill, Narraweena and Frenchs Forest blacked out traffic lights at Warringah Road, Beacon Hill.
  • Balgowlah. Shortly before 3.30pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Condamine Street, Balgowlah, near Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation.
  • Belrose. Just after 1.00pm Saturday, 08 January, emergency services, including CareFlight, were called to the Bare Creek Bike Park at Crozier Road, Belrose, following a report of a fall from a bike. They found a 14-year-old boy who had fallen over the handlebars, landing awkwardly and hitting his head. Paramedics conducted a trauma assessment and he was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition. Full story.

  • Brookvale. Just before 9.00pm Monday, 10 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale.
  • Collaroy. Just before 9.45am Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Pittwater Road, Collaroy, near Hadleigh Avenue.
  • Davidson. Shortly after 4.00pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics attended to a woman who had fallen on a bus at Davidson and hurt her leg. She was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Dee Why. Shortly before 8.30pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a fall on an escalator at Dee Why RSL. A woman in her 70s had suffered a blow to the head and lacerations in the fall. She was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Duffys Forest. Just before 11.00pm Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Booralie Road, Duffys Forest. A white ute collided with a power pole near Kinka Road.
  • Frenchs Forest. Shortly before 3.30pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Naree Road, Frenchs Forest.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just before 6.00pm Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Blackbutts Road, Frenchs Forest.
  • Ingleside. A man has been charged with mid-range drink driving following an accident that occurred just before 7.00pm Sunday, 09 January, at Mona Vale Road, Ingleside, near Tumburra Street. A white van collided with a dark-coloured Toyota 4WD, which was damaged and unable to be driven, blocking westbound traffic for around 90 minutes. Nobody was injured in the collision but the 35-year-old driver of the van was interviewed by police at Frenchs Forest Police Station where he was charged with mid-range PCA. Full story.
Drink driving charge
  • Manly. Just after 7.45pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of an injured child at Hotel Steyne at The Corso, Manly. They found a baby boy who had fallen and received a cut on the chin. He was treated at the scene and did not require transport to hospital.
  • Manly. Just before 11.30am Sunday, 09 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Golf Parade, Manly.
  • Manly. Just after 3.00pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics received a report of a collision between a bus and car at Balgowlah Road, Manly. No injuries were reported in the incident which cleared within a few minutes.
  • Mona Vale. Just before 11.30am Saturday, 08 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car at Akuna Lane, Mona Vale. They treated a woman in her 80s who had been knocked over and was suffering shoulder pain. She was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Mona Vale. Shortly after 2.00pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Barrenjoey Road, Mona Vale.
  • Narrabeen. Just before 9.30pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at The Esplanade, Narrabeen.
  • North Narrabeen. Just before 12.45pm Sunday, 09 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Ocean Street, North Narrabeen, following a report that a teenage boy had injured his leg jumping from Narrabeen Lagoon Bridge. The boy had landed on a rock, suffering a cut to his knee. He was treated and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • North Narrabeen. Shortly before 1.30pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen.
  • Scotland Island. Shortly after 9.30am Monday, 10 January, Community First Responders and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a suspected funnel web spider bite at a property at Robertson Road, Scotland Island. They treated a man in his 80s who had applied a torniquet to his finger and took him to Northern Beaches Hospital for further treatment.
  • Seaforth. Just after 11.45am Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of a person driving a car in a dangerous manner at Jenner Street, Seaforth.
  • Warriewood. Shortly after 6.00pm Monday, 10 January, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Narrabeen Park Parade, Warriewood.
  • Whale Beach. Shortly before 11.45am Sunday, 09 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Whale Beach Road, Whale Beach, following a report a toddler had fallen backwards and hit her head on cement. The two-year-old girl was treated and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Wheeler Heights. Just after 8.15pm Monday, 10 January, NSW Police were called to a single vehicle collision at South Creek Road, Wheeler Heights. A station wagon reportedly hit trees before allegedly attempting to drive away from the scene.

Theft & Vandalism

  • Avalon Beach. Just after 7.30pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police responded to a security alarm at a retail store at Old Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach.
  • Balgowlah. Just before 6.00pm Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of property stolen from a vehicle parked at Marjory Thomas Place, Balgowlah.
  • Beacon Hill. Just after 12.45pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police were called to investigate an intruder at a home at Mary Street, Beacon Hill.
  • Brookvale. Just before 10.00am Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an armed robbery at a hardware business at Pittwater Road, Brookvale. A man allegedly threatened staff of the store with an axe as he fled with stolen goods. A manhunt of the area around Warringah Mall was conducted, eventually leading to the man’s arrest at Normandy Road, Allambie Heights. Full story.

  • Collaroy. Just after 3.45am Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police received a report of property stolen from a vehicle that was parked at Suffolk Avenue, Collaroy.
  • Collaroy. Just after 8.45am Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of vandalism of property at Pittwater Road, Collaroy.
  • Cromer. Shortly after 7.00pm Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police were called to investigate vandalism and theft from a motor vehicle parked at Grover Avenue, Cromer.
  • Curl Curl. Just after 6.15am Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police were called to investigate the theft of a motor vehicle from where it had been parked at Ellen Street, Curl Curl.
  • Elanora Heights. Just after 11.00am Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Kuttabul Place, Elanora Heights.
  • Fairlight. Shortly after 11.30am Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of theft from a vehicle parked at La Perouse Street, Fairlight.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 1.00pm Monday, 10 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Hakea Avenue, Frenchs Forest.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 11.30am Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Greendale Avenue, Frenchs Forest.
  • Manly. Shortly after 11.00pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Cove Avenue, Manly.
  • Manly. Just after 11.15am Sunday, 09 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a person allegedly caught stealing from a retail store at Darley Road, Manly.
  • Manly. Shortly after 11.30am Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of property being vandalised at Collingwood Street, Manly.
  • Manly Vale. Just after 12.30pm Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of deliberate damage to property at Condamine Street, Manly Vale.
  • Newport. Shortly after 5.00pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police received a report of property stolen from premises at Irrubel Road, Newport.
  • North Narrabeen. Just after 3.15pm Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police received a report of vandalism of property at Nareen Parade, North Narrabeen.
  • Seaforth. Just before 6.30am Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Abernethy Street, Seaforth.
  • Warriewood. Shortly before 11.15am Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Garden Street, Warriewood.

Assault & Disorder

  • Avalon Beach. Just before 11.30am Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach. No serious injuries were reported.
  • Brookvale. Shortly before 11.45pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to a report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave licensed premises at Orchard Road, Brookvale.
  • Collaroy Plateau. Shortly before 9.30pm Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police received a report of a group of disorderly youths gathered at a reserve at Parkes Road, Collaroy Plateau.
  • Dee Why. Just after 6.00pm Monday, 10 January, NSW Police were called to assist a person who appeared to be intoxicated at The Kingsway, Dee Why.
  • Dee Why. Shortly before 8.00pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics assisted a man who was on the median strip at Pittwater Road, Dee Why, near Howard Avenue. The man became belligerent when spoken to and was taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
  • Elanora Heights. Just after 1.00am Sunday, 09 January, NSW Police received a report of a person who appeared to be intoxicated causing a disturbance at Georgina Avenue, Elanora Heights.
  • Fairlight. Just after 8.45pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at an apartment building at Balgowlah Road, Fairlight. A woman in her 20s was treated for lacerations to her hand and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 12.30am Sunday, 09 January, NSW Police received a report of a group of disorderly youths gathered at Frenchs Forest Road East, Frenchs Forest.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just before 8.45pm Thursday, 13 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a person assaulted at a commercial premise at Frenchs Forest Road East, Frenchs Forest.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 12.15pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to assist a person who appeared to be intoxicated at Warringah Road, Frenchs Forest.
  • Killarney Heights. Just after 8.15pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a person who appeared to be intoxicated causing a disturbance at Donegal Road, Killarney Heights.
  • Manly. Just after 2.45pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police were called to assist a person who appeared to be intoxicated at Sydney Road, Manly.
  • Manly. Shortly after 2.30pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to assist a person who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at Raglan Street, Manly.
  • Manly. Just before 8.30pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to assist a person who appeared to be intoxicated at East Esplanade, Manly.
  • Manly Vale. Just after 4.30pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to a report of a confrontation between neighbours at Seebrees Street, Manly Vale.
  • Mona Vale. Just before 9.45pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Park Street, Mona Vale.
  • Narrabeen. Just after 8.15pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Police responded to a report of around 20 youths fighting near the Tramshed at Pittwater Road, Narrabeen. NSW Ambulance was summoned to reports of injury but by the time police officers and paramedics had arrived, everyone had fled the scene.
  • Narrabeen. Shortly before 6.00pm Monday, 10 January, NSW Police received a report of a group of disorderly youths gathered near Pittwater Road, Narrabeen.
  • Narrabeen. Shortly before 8.00pm Wednesday, 12 January, NSW Police were called to a report of a group of disorderly people at Pittwater Road, Narrabeen.
  • Narrabeen. Just after 8.30pm Friday, 14 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of disorderly youths gathered at Lagoon Street, Narrabeen.
  • North Narrabeen. Just before 9.00pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Collins Street, North Narrabeen. No injuries were reported from the incident.
  • North Narrabeen. Just after 11.45pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics responded to a report of an unconscious teenage male at Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen. While being treated, the teen allegedly became aggressive, assaulting the two paramedics who were assisting him. He was arrested by police and taken to Manly Police Station. Full story.
  • Northern Beaches. A Northern Beaches teen has been charged with the murder of another teen at Kariong on the Central Coast. Just after 11.00pm Tuesday, 11 January, NSW Police allege the 13-year-old boy stabbed another 13-year-old boy with a kitchen knife in what is thought to have been an arranged confrontation. The injured boy was taken to Gosford Hospital in a critical condition but died. Full story.

Fire & Hazard

  • Bayview. Shortly after 5.30pm Saturday, 08 January, Fire and Rescue NSW Mona Vale Station was called to a fire alarm at Pittwater Road, Bayview. By the time they arrived, the alarm had silenced and no sign of fire was found.
  • Dee Why. Just after 5.30pm Wednesday, 12 January, Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station was called to a report of an elderly lady trapped in a lift at Sturdee Parade, Dee Why. Firefighters were able to release the woman from the lift after around 45 minutes.
  • Palm Beach. Just after 5.00pm Saturday, 08 January, Fire and Rescue NSW Avalon Station was called to sparking electrical wires at Norma Road, Palm Beach. They created an exclusion zone and stood by for fire protection until Ausgrid was able to repair the wiring.

Beach & Waterways

  • Clontarf. Just before 11.15am Friday, 14 January, emergency services were called to Washaway Beach near Grotto Point, Clontarf, following a report a 56-year-old man had fallen on rocks suffering a leg injury. Water Police were unable to reach the man by boat due to the swell so a specialist rescue firefighter abseiled to the man’s location and provided initial first aid and direction to a NSW Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter which lowered a paramedic and winched the man from the scene. Washaway Beach rescue
  • Killarney Heights. Just after 1.00pm Saturday, 08 January, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of traumatic injury at the Davidson Park boat ramp, Killarney Heights. A man in his 40s had struck his head on a boat, suffering a laceration. A Marine Rescue vessel assisted transferring the man to shore where he was treated by paramedics and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Manly. Shortly after 1.30pm Tuesday, 11 January, Surf Life Saving NSW Manly lifeguard assisted a 15-year-old boy who had taken in water while swimming at Manly Beach. NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the beach but first aid provided by the lifeguard was sufficient and he did not require further treatment.
  • Manly. Shortly before 10.00am Friday, 14 January, Surf Life Saving NSW Manly Patrol was called to assist a person in distress off Blue Fish Point, Manly. Lifeguards picked up a 23-year-old rock fisherman who had been swept into the water and had been assisted by a passing kayaker. Not wearing a life jacket when picked up, the fisherman said he had been wearing one but had removed it as his backpack was attached to it when he went into the water. He was taken back to Shelly Beach by Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) and left the scene before he could be spoken with by NSW Police or assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
  • Warriewood. Shortly after 6.00pm Saturday, 08 January, alarm was raised over teenage girls in difficulty at the Warriewood blow hole. One of the girls had hurt her leg and was unable to climb out. Surf Life Saving NSW Warriewood and Narrabeen Patrols sent IRBs to rescue two girls, bringing them back to Warriewood Beach. Full story.
  • Warriewood. Shortly before 10.30am Friday, 14 January, Surf Life Saving NSW Warriewood lifeguards conducted an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) sweep of the area between Warriewood and Mona Vale following a report of a shark sighting.
