There is an updated version of this article with more up to date information.

The Northern Beaches has recorded 909 cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an increase of 21 total cases since our last report a week ago. The Northern Beaches now has 40 active cases of COVID-19, an increase of 19 active cases since last week.

11 people in NSW have died from COVID-19 in the last week. 625 people have died with COVID-19 in NSW since the start of the pandemic.

10,706 people have been tested for COVID-19 on the Northern Beaches in the last week. This is a test rate of 4.23 percent for the last week. Note: we have manually compiled this data from official data sources, and have changed the ‘recent tests’ previously reported by NSW Health to tests in the last week. This may appear to result in a reduction but is simply a different time period being measured.

A total of 12,785,148 vaccinations have now been administered in NSW, an increase of 91,846 since last week. The double vaccination rate of the Northern Beaches is 94.5 percent.

Due to changes in the way Data NSW are updating data sources and repeated delays in updates to the postcode heat maps, we are now compiling the information in this report from raw source data.

Active cases are defined as people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 14 days.

The testing rate is calculated by the number of tests conducted in the previous week compared with the ABS population data for the postcode.

The vaccination rate is based on people who are ‘fully vaccinated’. The postcode of people vaccinated is based on the address they reported at the time of the vaccination. Vaccinations carried out without a valid address are not shown. Individuals who have nominated a geographical address with a non-standard postcode, such as some post office box addresses, are excluded. This represents a very small proportion (<1%) of all persons in the data. The rate will be rounded down to the nearest 10 percent meaning 90 percent is the maximum possible vaccination rate per postcode.
