UPDATE: It is understood this incident may now be connected with a subsequent incident involving a violent confrontation with a man at Narraweena in which a police officer was injured and a man was shot in the leg.

Police are hunting for a suspect after a stabbing at Belgrave Street, Manly.

Around 3.45pm today (Friday, 11 June) NSW Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing at Ivanhoe Park, Manly near the Manly Lawn Tennis Club at Belgrave Street.

They found a 43-year-old male who had suffered a single stab wound to his upper left arm, allegedly inflicted by another person who had fled the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed and treated the man for a deep laceration, before transporting him by road to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

At 4.15pm NSW Police confirmed they did not have anyone in custody and had begun a thorough sweep of the area, bringing in police dogs to assist in the manhunt.

They have not yet released a description of the person being sought in connection with the alleged stabbing.
