Police have arrested a man over two armed robberies at a Forestville service station.
The Shell Coles Express service station at Warringah Road, Forestville was robbed twice, once in April and again in May. Northern Beaches Police suspected the same man was responsible for both robberies.
On both occasions a man entered the store before dawn and threatened the store attendant with a knife, demanding cash before fleeing on foot. No physical injuries occurred during either incident.
Following investigations by officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command, at 7.40am today (Wednesday, 09 June) detectives arrested a 19-year-old man outside a home at Woodlands Road, Forestville. A search warrant was executed at the home where police seized two knives.
The man was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with two counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period. He was refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court today.
