A 15-year-old from Chatswood has been charged following an alleged assault at a Mona Vale bus stop.
About 2.30pm Thursday, 28 January, officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were patrolling Mona Vale when they saw a boy allegedly being assaulted at a bus stop on Barrenjoey Road.
Police were told a 16-year-old boy was waiting for a bus when he was approached by a group of teenagers. It is alleged one of the teens struck him with a glass bottle, while another hit him with a stick.
The boy was treated at the scene for a laceration to the head and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested following a foot pursuit, before being taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding in company. A second boy arrested at the time was released pending further enquiries.
Today (Friday, 12 February) detectives from Northern Beaches executed a search warrant at a house in Chatswood and arrested a 15-year-old boy who was taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding in company and affray.
Both teenagers were granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Wednesday, 17 February.
