The CareFlight helicopter has once again been called to the Northern Beaches.

Around 8am today (Thursday, 24 September) emergency services were called to attend reports of an accident at the worksite on Mona Vale Road.

A man in his 40s was driving a truck that entered the worksite and hit an embankment.

The accident caused the man to be thrown from the vehicle, narrowly missing an excavator.

A spokesperson for CareFlight said the man has been assessed at the scene and is being treated for a broken leg.

He will be stabilised and extricated from the worksite.

The injured man is not believed to be a worker at the site. Police investigations are ongoing.
